Coronation Street's Sue Devaney, who portrays the character of Debbie Webster on the popular ITV soap, has married her partner Jim O'Farrell in a discreet ceremony. The 57 year old actress wed the retired journalist earlier this year in an intimate gathering attended by close family and friends.

The first images shared from her big day depict the bride donning a striking red dress with black accents, complemented by a silver tiara. Meanwhile, Jim was seen sporting a patterned navy suit, initially paired with a red tie for the ceremony, which was later swapped for a darker one at the reception.

Sue had previously shared these photos on Facebook a few months back, sparking a flurry of congratulatory messages in March and April. One particular image, featuring the newlyweds alongside some guests, now graces her Instagram profile picture.

The posts were met with a wave of well-wishes earlier this year, with comments such as "Congratulations to you both."

"You both look so happy," and "Gorgeous couple. Congratulations."

In April, the actress confirmed her marital status to her followers via an Instagram post caption, accompanying a photo of herself and Jim outside a West Yorkshire hotel they visited for his birthday.

Sue sparked speculation with a cryptic Instagram caption hinting at wedding festivities. She expressed her gratitude, stating: "Thank you so much for our amazing wedding gift."

She added a note of appreciation for the time spent at Holdsworth House celebrating Jim's significant birthday.

The Sun revealed on Wednesday that Sue tied the knot in North Yorkshire.

A source shared with the publication: "It was a beautiful day. Sue looked a million dollars. It was a lovely ceremony and very low key considering Sue's fame."

The insider continued, expressing joy for the couple: "Everyone is really happy for them."

Sue's history with Corrie dates back to the mid-80s when she first joined the show from 1984 to 1985 as Debbie, Kevin Webster's sister. While Michael Le Vell's character Kevin became a staple on the show, Debbie would be mentioned occasionally after Sue's initial departure.

Debbie made a comeback to the cobbles in 2019, reintroduced through an intriguing plotline, which has kept Sue in the role ever since, marking her most extended period on the soap.

Beyond the streets of Weatherfield, Sue has graced other notable TV series, including playing Liz Harker in Casualty. Her diverse acting portfolio also includes working with British comedy legends Victoria Wood and Julie Walters in the sitcom Dinnerladies.
