The Morning fans threw their support behind Matthew Wright as the presenter suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital.

Just moments before the paramedics were called, the 59-year-old took to social media with a selfie updating fans on his big move.

An unsuspecting Matthew smiled for the snap as he posed in front of a pile of boxes, bags and suitcases.

Sadly, the broadcaster’s moving plans were halted as he took to X with an update on his previously discussed condition.

Matthew penned: “Turns out my bad neck is actually quite bad. Indebted to paramedics Steph and Miko for getting me to hospital and dealing with worst of pain.

“Doesn’t look like I’ll be moving house today,” he added.

The LBC radio host previously told fans he had been suffering neck pain in the days leading up to the hospital visit, but had decided to try and shrug it off.

Despite his injury, Matthew remained upbeat as he joked: “Two shots of morphine so far, one diazepam, 1000mg paracetamol and it’s not even 7am #BreakfastOfChampions.”

On Saturday, the former Wright Stuff host revealed he was feeling unwell but remained “merry” with a birthday bottle of whisky from his management company.

He added: “Neck hurts from falling asleep like crumpled tissue b4 ENG/SWI...still moving house and trying not to panic....but also panicking.”

Following his hospital trip, Matthew returned to X to thank fans for their support but admitted he was still feeling rough.

In response to his original post, @Vallance3 wrote: “Completely unaware Mr Wright undergoing any sort of health issue - absolute best to him - loveliest of humanity!”

The star replied: “Much appreciated- head banging and not in a good way.”

Matthew has been open about his fresh start as he moves for the first time in 23 years, swapping the London city life for a peaceful escape to Devon.
