Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have suffered another family tragedy with the unexpected death of their dog, Nala. On Sunday, the couple shared harrowing details about what happened to their pet, explaining that she had gone into the groomers on Friday “healthy”, but came out “hyperventilating” and died just hours later.

In a post shared to his 16 million Instagram followers, David and Victoria’s 25-year-old son wrote: “Dear Nala, we miss you so much.

“You were unexpectedly taken from way us too soon and hope others don’t experience a loss after something as simple as a grooming.

“You were the cutest little baby girl and we will always think of you. We know you are looking and barking down on us x We love you so much and miss you beyond.”

Nicola, who also lost her grandmother in May, said she had experienced the “hardest month of my life” and was struggling to find the words to describe her heartbreak.

The 29-year-old explained to her three million followers: “Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath. We rushed her to the vet and she passed hours later.

“I’m sharing this in hopes that it might prevent this from happening to other dogs. Her life was taken away from her way too soon.

“She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for nine years through everything. Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.

“One day without Nala on earth feels like an eternity. I wish I could have her back in my arms. I pray she’s with my Naunni. I hope I see them soon.”

The grieving couple have been inundated with support. Brooklyn’s grandmother Jackie Adams penned under his post: “We are so sorry to hear about Nala Brooklyn. We have had so many dogs, as you know, and always find it so hard when one goes. Lots of love xxxx.”

Brooklyn’s brother, Romeo, 21, also showed his support by liking Nicola’s post.

Nala's death comes less than a year after Brooklyn and Nicola lost their dog, Bear. Announcing the sad news in August 2023, Nicola wrote: "Bear, I am so lucky I got to grow up with you by my side. Thank you for loving all of us so deeply. I hate that you're gone I miss you so much."

The dog-lovers were also left shattered in 2021 following the death of their bulldog, Frankie.
