The Chase's Mark Labbett takes swipe at ex Hayley Palmer after sudden split

Mark Labbett has shared a health update as he made a "dig" at his ex-girlfriend, Hayley Palmer. The Chaser and his TV presenting partner announced they were splitting up not long after celebrating one year together.
Since then, Mark, 58, has been keeping things low-key, but broke his media silence to boast of his summer plans. Showing off his latest look, as he continues his weight-loss diet, the ITV quizzer shared a picture from the same table he used to dine at with Hayley, 42.
Posting to Instagram, he smiled as he dug into his grub. He got stuck into a bowl of soup, with bread, as he wrote: "My summer of protein and pain. Gym [tick] Nutrition [tick]. Feels good to be The Beast."
Mark previously shared photos from the exact same spot as he enjoyed romantic dates with Hayley. But just days after spending a year together, Hayley announced that they had decided to go their separate ways.
On Instagram, she wrote: "It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future." She ended the message: "Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift."
It was reported that they decided they "wanted different things" leading to them parting ways. A source told the press: "Mark had a lovely time with Hayley and has a lot of respect for her but they wanted different things.
"She loves getting dressed up and going out to parties and showbiz events, whereas he prefers to stay at home. Mark felt there was too much of an age gap between them for long-term success. They are still friendly.
"Away from his job on telly and filming, Mark enjoys a quiet life and spending time with his son. He is still hopeful he can meet someone to settle down with one day."

They marked their first anniversary in a nostalgic nod to their beginnings. Mark and Hayley returned to the very beach where sparks first flew, with Mark sharing a sentimental snapshot captioned: "One year anniversary. Same beach, same bench." Hayley echoed the sentiment in her own post at the time.
Mark spilled the beans on their initial encounter, stating: "It was at the National Television Awards in 2022 when our then mutual agent said he got me a Toby Carvery gold card and she was like 'What?'
"You can take it along to Toby Carvery and take people with you and get some discount. For panto, I took the cast and crew out for a big Christmas party."
