A Place In The Sun star Lucy Alexander has been an on screen property expert for over two decades having first come to prominence on BBC's Homes Under The Hammer. However before she was guiding homebuyers towards the perfect property she studied drama and dance in the London Studio Centre alongside former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk the bubbly star admitted that she would like to revisit that skillset. In particular she would love an appearance on BBC's Saturday night flagship show Strictly Come Dancing which she says would be the "icing on the career cake."

"I'd love to continue combining my love of property and travel as I love presenting first and foremost but I also had drama and dance school training so 'maybe' i might add a few more acting roles or TV commercials to my list," she said pondering on her future ambitions.

"Dancing is also a passion and I still jive with my 85 year old dad Fred at family parties," she admitted. "Strictly would be my icing on the career cake or if Kitty beats me to it how amazing would that be ...

"The first wheelchair dancer on the show. She'd be amazing and why not! She is so graceful," she gushed about her 22-year-old EastEnders star daughter. The actress, who plays Penny Branning in the soap, became wheelchair-bound at the age of seven after developing transverse myelitis, a rare disease of the central nervous system.

Having adapted her family home for her daughter has also made Lucy very conscious of the importance of accessible housing - something which she brings to her work.

"The more accessible a home is, the more people can benefit from it," she pointed out. "Young families, anyone with a disability needing space for a wheelchair or even the elderly...

"In my experience homes with good accessibility attract a wider range of buyers and tenants resulting in increased demand which can only be a good thing.

"I love helping our house hunters on the show think about all these choices and options," she explained.

"I always have one eye out for them [the buyers] for 'future proofing' stairs, the location - are there steep hills etc.

"Maybe there are no lifts or there is a need to rely on an elevator that could sometimes be out of use.

"I've got experience in what to look for and how it might work having made our own family home accessible for our daughter," she explained.

A Place In The Sun is on Channel 4 daily at 4pm.
