Great British Bake Off winner Matty gets married as he praises 'stunning wife'
Almost a year on since he rose to fame on The Great British Bake Off, winner Matty Edgell has hit another huge milestone as he tied the knot.

Great British Bake Off winner Matty Edgell has praised his "stunning wife" as he tied the knot on Friday 31 May. The 28-year-old baker shared a number of sweet images on his official Instagram page to mark the occasion.
The first photo, taken by Rebecca Clark Photography, shows Matty and his wife Lara walking away from the South Farm wedding venue, whilst another photo shows the pair signing paperwork to legalise their marriage.
A third snap shows Matty dancing with his wife and hugging her whilst laughing. He added the caption: " Signed, sealed and delivered. she can’t turn back now! We had a the best time celebrating our special day with the people we love the most. Thank you so much to everyone who came, you made our day what it was. Ps. How stunning does my wife look?!"
Many of his 440,000 followers couldn't help but comment on the delightful photographs. Fellow Bake Off star Dan Hunter commented: "congratulations!!!! But where was my invite! looks like you both had an amazing day so chuffed for you, Lara looked amazing, and you don’t scrub up too bad yourself! Hope the head wasn’t too bad the next morning haha! Gutted we couldn’t make it catch up soon to celebrate pal."
Another contestant Keith said: "Fantastic evening - thanks for the invite. First time I’ve EVER seen a bride do the “worm” in her wedding dress. Immense."

Nicky Laceby, who was also on Bake Off, wrote: "A massive congratulations to you both. The most gorgeous loving couple, happy married life. We feel very honoured to have been part of it. It was the most fabulous evening & there were some mighty impressive dance moves hitting that dance floor."
One fan commented: "The biggest congratulations to you both. Absolutely beautiful pictures, and Lara looks so beautiful," whilst another penned: "Congratulations to you both! Wishing you a lifetime of loveeee! God bless your union."

Matty was crowned the winner of the 2023 series of Bake Off, beating Dan and Josh to take home the coveted title. He managed to battle his way through weeks of intense competition and fought off fellow bakers, but he admitted he "didn't see it coming".
After his win, he wrote on Instagram: "Who saw that one coming?! What an experience and what a journey @britishbakeoff ! This is something that has taught me as much about myself as it has about baking. I can’t thank the bakers, the crew and everyone involved in the process enough for making it so special.
"The friendships I’ve formed and the memories I’ve made throughout this have been amazing. Dan, Josh, where to even begin?! 30 out of 30 bakes! You two are insane. Your baking ability is unquestionable and I’ve learnt so much from you both. Thank you for the support and words of wisdom throughout, you’re such special people!
"Thank you so much to all of my family for every bit of support and encouragement. Lara, I can’t imagine I was fun to live with at times and I am so grateful for the sacrifices you made for me throughout this! I don’t think I made dinner for 10 weeks."
