Melinda Messenger says she's 'reclaiming life' at 53 as she addresses heartbreak

Melinda Messenger has excitingly embraced her fifties, revealing a remarkable transformation. The 53 year old model and mother to Morgan, 24, Flynn, 22, and Evie, 20, conceded she had felt "limited" during her child-rearing years with ex-partner Wayne Roberts.

However, she is now prioritising herself, experiencing a deeply empowering shift.

In an unreserved disclosure, Melinda opened up about her new outlook and composure on ageing. She confessed: "My fifties so far have been bloody brilliant. I've gone through the stage of being a mother and raising a young family. All my attention in life so far has been about looking after everyone else's needs. Now it feels like I'm reclaiming my own life. I felt somewhat limited in my 40s."

She divulged to Closer magazine that she was once excessively preoccupied with other people's perceptions. However, she now embraces self-acceptance, accentuating her happiness.

She added: "I've got rid of those limitations and shed lots of layers since then," reports the Mirror.

Melinda wholeheartedly welcomes the process of ageing, stating: "I don't fear the ageing process at all. If you keep yourself trapped in stages you've outgrown, it's going to feel uncomfortable, so it's better to embrace it."

Her celebration of naturally greying hair, reforming her diet to include only whole foods, excluding ultra-processed items and giving up coffee as well as alcohol has brought notable improvements in her overall wellness. The iconic model concluded confidently: "I just feel better, stronger, calmer."

Melinda previously announced she had split from Dr Raj Joshi, her former fiance, months after their engagement. The couple's romance blossomed on the set of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where Raj was the medic on duty during Melinda's stint on the show.

However, by February, they had parted ways and Melinda felt compelled to set the record straight following inaccurate reports about their split.

Taking to Instagram, she stated: "A recent separation of mine has been shared with the newspapers by an anonymous source."

She went on to add: "While I initially considered ignoring it, the false information is rapidly spreading, and it's disheartening to see my life being inaccurately portrayed. I feel my hand has been forced so it's imperative to set the record straight."

Her post concluded with the clarification: "'It's important to clarify that my decision to end the relationship was not influenced but the peculiar claims made by the unnamed source, claims that those who know me would find unrecognisable."

She ended by saying: "Rather there were entirely different reasons behind my choice [to end the relationship]."

The mother-of-three had previously revealed her engagement alongside a picture of the former couple arm-in-arm before a sweeping, mountainous view of the New Zealand countryside.
