Gavin and Stacey star becomes first-time dad as he's seen with baby for first time
Gavin and Stacey actor Mathew Horne has reportedly become a first-time father after secretly welcoming a son with his wife, set designer Celina Bassili, who he married last year.
Gavin and Stacey's Mathew Horne has been spotted for the first time in public with his son, embracing fatherhood over the weekend.
At 45, Mathew, who tied the knot with set designer Celina Bassili, is said to have welcomed a child shortly after their 2021 wedding, as reported by The Sun, although the couple chose to keep the baby joy private.
Snapped by The Sun, images show Mathew adeptly handling a pram while Celina tenderly holds their infant. A source disclosed to the outlet, "Mathew is a brilliant dad and he and Celina love being parents."
The insider also mentioned that Mathew has "kept the news quiet" due to his preference for a life away from the limelight, but his Gavin and Stacey colleagues are all aware of his new role as a father.
"All his Gavin and Stacey co-stars know about him being a dad, including James Corden and Joanna Page," the source revealed. "They all have kids so you can imagine the talk on set for the Christmas special is going to centre a lot on their kids", reports OK!.

This news emerges alongside the exciting announcement that Gavin and Stacey will make a comeback for a final Christmas special in 2024.
James Corden broke the news on social media on Friday, 3 May, posting a photo alongside Ruth Jones with the script for the upcoming episode.

Fans were quick to express their excitement in the comments section. "This has made my whole year! ," one fan exclaimed.

The BBC responded to the announcement with a playful comment: "We'll have: A chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan, nine poppadoms and the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey! ! ! Coming this Christmas Day on BBC One and iPlayer."
Alison Steadman, who portrays the iconic Pam Shipman in the series, previously shared her experiences filming with OK! and revealed that she still keeps in touch with her former co-stars.
"We [the cast] have a WhatsApp group, so if we do want to send a message out, we can. It's nice," she shared. However, she warned that creating a new Gavin and Stacey episode is not an easy task.
"They are extremely busy people. Finding the time to put another show together is very difficult. These things take months and months.
"You develop it, you change it, and then you have another idea and so on. It's quite a long process. And then you've got to get the actors free," she elaborated.
