Manchester United legend David Beckham couldn't resist tucking into a strange-looking Spanish delicacy, which costs up to £400 per lb, at a luxurious Barcelona seafood restaurant.
David Beckham tries expensive seafood delicacy in Barcelona
David Beckham has shared his love for a Spanish delicacy, named percebes. The 48-year-old shared photos of himself tucking into the Galician seafood dish, which comes with a whopping price tag.
The football legend took to Instagram to share memories from his trip to Barcelona. David could be seen dining at a famous seafood restaurant, Botafumeiro, in the city.
The star, who has admitted he is a big foodie, unlike wife Victoria Beckham, treated himself to the bizarre-looking plate of Goose Neck Barnacles. The expensive delicacy can cost up to £400 per lb.
Seafood fans could be set back about £80 for a portion of between 15 and 20. The reason for the dish's pricey cost is because of its scarcity.
Goose Neck Barnacles are also incredibly difficult and dangerous to retrieve. Despite the meal being extremely sought after, they have a peculiar exterior.
Some people have compared the dish to dinosaur toes or lizard claws.
David did not appear to be fussed over the cost – amid his reported £350million net worth.
While he was dining at the top eatery, David was also spoon-fed baby eels by the very attentive restaurant manager.
The former Manchester United player uploaded a series of snaps to his 86.5 million Instagram followers.

The attentive host then carefully wiped the star's chin with a serviette.
Prices of the dishes are not available online, however a review of the restaurant reveals that it is not a cheap dining experience.
A former diner penned that a green salad starter costs €13.75 (£11.76), a lobster cocktail starter is €33.75 (£28.85) and a seafood platter for two is €145 (£123.97).
The reviewer revealed the total cost of his meal for one was €158 (£137).
David’s wife Victoria was nowhere to be seen.
This may have not come as a surprise as the fashion mogul recently admitted to eating the same thing everyday.
It is said that the health-conscious designer will only eat grilled fish and steamed veg.
The boys in the family appear to be major foodies, as earlier this month, David and Victoria's son Brooklyn Beckham also revealed he was setting up a pop-up restaurant on Uber Eats.
