SYLVESTER STALLONE once branded Piers Morgan a "p***y" after demolishing him in an arm wrestle.

Sylvester is the American actor and screenwriter who has become best-known for his landmark role as Rocky. It was through the underdog boxer, who fights a number of brutal opponents to win the world heavyweight championships twice, that Sylvester achieved his greatest critical and commercial success. Tonight, the Oscar-winning sports drama — also written by Sylvester — airs on ITV.
It sees Rocky Balboa down-on-his-luck, scraping a living collecting debts for a Philadelphia loan shark.
But when heavyweight champion Apollo Creed puts his title up for grabs in a US Bicentennial publicity stunt, Rocky receives an unexpected shot at the big time.
A long history with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and showbiz, Sylvester once found himself in a Las Vegas casino with an unlikely figure: Piers Morgan.
The former Good Morning Britain host recalled the encounter in a column for the Mail late last year, titled: 'Dumbest act of bravado'.
The broadcaster wrote: "I reckon I could take you at arm-wrestling,’ I told Sylvester Stallone in a Vegas casino, forgetting that he once literally starred in a movie about arm-wrestling, called Over The Top.
"Stallone’s warrior eyes swivelled into mine, blood red with fury at this imbecilic boast. ‘Oh YEAH?’
"We leaned across the table and grabbed each other’s hands, as a large group of spectators began whooping and hollering.
"‘You’re going down, Stallone,’ I goaded, absurdly, theatrically kissing my arm muscles. I’ve been working on these guns for ages.’

"It was over in 0.3 seconds.
"I went to push the Rocky and Rambo star’s stupendously well-developed right paw down and felt this sudden torrent of power smashing into mine, sending it crashing into the table so hard that Vegas TV later ran reports of a suspected earthquake in the Planet Hollywood area.
"‘P***y,’ sneered Stallone."
Sylvester has been a regular feature of Piers' columns over the years, the journalist often referring to his former lifestyle among the stars.

In November last year, he recalled the time he was once heckled by Sylvester for having a "massive" head.
It came during a conversation he had at celebrity nutritionist Gabriela Peacock's launch party for her new book, '2 Weeks To Feeling Great'.
Piers wrote: "'As you can imagine,’ I said, ‘I’m very comfortable with this premise.'
"Over pre-dinner drinks, guests quizzed me about my new TV show coming next year."
When supermodel Yasmin Le Bon asked Piers what they could expect to see, he replied: "Mainly, my head.'"
He continued: "I then told them that a few years ago, while I was watching a boxing match on Sylvester Stallone’s gigantic cinema-style TV at his Bel-Air home, I asked him if he ever watched my then-CNN show on it.
"He observed, 'Yes. Have you any concept of just how f***ing massive your head is when it appears on this screen?’
"Dame Joan nodded and said, ‘Syl’s not wrong – you really do have a very big head!’
"‘Perhaps you should just call your new show Piers Morgan’s Big Head?’ suggested Yasmin. ‘That works on every level.’"
Rocky airs at 11:05pm on ITV One.
