Steph McGovern details having to pick up 'weird' item for boss - leaving co-stars confused
STEPH MCGOVERN - best known for fronting BBC Breakfast - seemingly left her co-stars flabberghasted as she recalled the "weird" errand a former boss asked her to run.
Steph McGovern reveals the ‘weird’ item old boss asked for
Steph McGovern recalled a very odd task while doing an apprenticeship at the start of her career. The BBC Breakfast favourite revealed what happened on her latest podcast, released today.
I had to go and buy them, and I didn't know what they were
The 37-year-old's Not Bad For A Monday colleagues admitted they'd never even heard of the item she was asked to pick up.
The TV star spoke out while discussing funny things bosses have made their staff do, stating she had her own tale.
Steph branded the request "weird", saying it was completely irrelvant to the job she was doing.
She started: "I remember when I worked at Black & Decker and the boss there made me go and get food for his dog from the local pet shop - bull pizzles."

Co-star and producer, Geoff, questioned: "Bull pizzles? So you had to go and ask for bull pizzles?"
"Yeah," the mother-of-one confirmed. "Do you know what it is? It's the naughty bit of a bull. Bull pizzles... it's a [whispers] penis. That's what dogs eat."
As she broke into laughter after telling them what it was, companion Claire exclaimed: "What! Pet shops sell... My dog doesn't eat that!"
Steph quipped: "Thank god! But yeah, have you never heard that? I had to go and buy them, and I didn't know what they were.
"I was there doing an engineering apprenticeship, so it was totally irrelvant."
Geoff wanted to know the particulars, and questioned: "How are they served up?"
The small screen favourite continued: "In a bag. I don't known [if they were chopped up], I didn't look too closely, to be honest. Then I Googled what they were and I was like..."
She let out a shocked reaction before moving onto vomiting sounds.

Steph stated: "But it's quite a weird thing to get someone to do, isn't it? I quite enjoyed it because it meant I got to drive this posh work car."
Discussing how she would get her own back on the boss in question, she added: "So I'd be driving down the road, blasting the music.
"I'd purposefully leave the music on really, really loud in the car so when he started it it would be like, 'Boom!' Just for a laugh."
Meanwhile, it comes just days after Steph McGovern admitted why she had to miss her first day hosting BBC Breakfast in the show's new studios.
She unfortunately “couldn’t go on air” for the programme’s launch episode from its brand new base in Salford in 2012.
The Steph Show host admitted she had been struggling with her voice after going on a big night out with friends the night before.
She said: “Do you remember when we all went out in Belfast and it was the weekend before Breakfast was going to launch in Manchester, so in Salford, in Media City and it was a massive big deal, the new show, live from Salford Quays and all of this."
Not Bad For A Monday continues next week.
