Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Jamie Redknapp, 46, said he has been spending time with his family in Bournemouth as part of his new book. But, the former footballer admitted he isn’t keen on including personal details within the novel.
I just think there’s some stuff you’ve got to leave out.
Spilling all, he said: “I’m in the process of writing a book about growing up until my debut for Liverpool.
“It’s quite nice actually, it’s like a trip down memory lane and remembering old stuff, so we thought we’d come down here.
“Tom who is doing the book [with me], we’re just having a walk around and looking at different places, it’s quite nice.
“Mum and dad are piecing [content], it’s altogether, so should be fun.”

Jamie went on to say he isn’t keen on including personal details within the book as he doesn’t want to “tiptoe around people”.
“I’ve never wanted to do something about my whole life,” he divulged. “I just think there’s some stuff you’ve got to leave out.
“I don’t’ want to tiptoe around people. This is going to be from growing up from birth to, I think, when I made my Liverpool debut, that’ll probably be it.
“And growing up around people, like George Best, Frank Lampard and my dad.
“We will just see where it goes, someone will make it interesting hopefully.”
It doesn’t seem as though Jamie will be speaking about his marriage to Louise Redknapp in his new book, who he shares two children; Charley, 15, and Beau, 10, with.
The pair split up after 19 years of marriage back in 2017.
Jamie has predominately stayed quiet about their break-up, while his ex-wife has previously insisted she felt like a “stepford wife” in their marriage.

During our exclusive interview, Jamie went on to detail the former couple’s plans at Christmas.
“Louise and I sort of share the kids,” he revealed.
“They spend time with me and they spend time with her, that’s the way we want to do it.
“The boys will probably go to Louise’s families on Christmas Day and I’ll have them Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.”
Jamie added that he will be spending the festive period with his family including his dad Harry and mum Sandra.
Elsewhere, the sportsman has been fronting Vodafone’s new 2019 Christmas campaign based around the launch of a festive new game that will see family players compete for prizes.
On his involvement with the campaign, he said: “We liked the idea where it involved everyone, as useless as my mum and I were we all had to be involved to get the game going.
“It was lovely, when we got the opportunity to do it, I just thought it’s with the family and a nice thing to be involved in at Christmas.”
