Catherine Tyldesley: Strictly Come Dancing star 'banned from going near' partner Johannes
CATHERINE TYLDESLEY continued her Strictly Come Dancing 2019 rehearsals today ahead of her upcoming third live performance on Saturday night. However, there seemed to be a spanner in the works in the training room.
Catherine Tyldesley, 36, and her Strictly Come Dancing 2019 partner Johannes Radebe, 32, returned to training to perfect their routine for the weekend today.
However, the Coronation Street favourite appeared to have made things difficult when it came to working with her professional partner.
In a video which she shared with her 548,000 Instagram followers, she could be seen looking bronzed and ready for Saturday night’s Strictly Movie Week extravaganza.
“We’re here, were rehearsing the Rumba,” she told fans. “But she’s banned from actually going near Johannes.”
Strictly pro Johannes, who was dressed head-to-toe in white chimed in: “We’re not hugging today.”
“Because I’m covered in fake tan!” she exclaimed.
Her partner burst out laughing, before confirming once again: “I’m not hugging today.”
“Not allowed in the vicinity of Johannes,” Catherine quipped.
Strictly is known for it’s overindulgence in fake tans and it appeared the actress had got into the swing of things when it came to being Strictly-fied.
Catherine and Johannes have had a relatively strong start to the competition, scoring a decent 20 points for their first outing onto the dance floor almost two weeks ago.
The Corrie star tackled the Viennese Waltz for her debut and received plenty of praise from the judges for the elegant performance.
“The transitions, I thought, were a little bit bumpy,” Craig Revel Horwood, 54, criticised. “But, you know what? I think you’ve got great potential.”
New judge Motsi Mabuse, 28, meanwhile, told the contestant she “managed to create an atmosphere,” while advising her to work on her position within Johannes’ frame.
Last weekend, she dropped one point to a score of 19 from the judges for her Samba, struggling slightly more with the energetic Latin number.
“You have an awful lot of technical content in here,” Shirley Ballas, 59, said, before pulling her up on the technique.
“You got the right feeling but you lost the rhythm,” Bruno Tonioli, 63, chimed in. “You can never lose the rhythm.
“Really what you have to work on is that rhythmically that comes through and then you get the correct bounce, which you didn’t have tonight.”
Tonight, the pair will bring some Hollywood romance to the dance floor with their Rumba.
They will be dancing to Shallow, by Lady Gaga, 33, and Bradley Cooper, 44, from the movie A Star Is Born.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC One.
