Celebrity Gogglebox: Laurence Fox gushes over Nigella Lawson
Nigella Lawson, 59, revealed she tends to “get quite camp” while hosting cooking shows on TV. The mum-of-two also admitted her children often “tease her” about her signature presenting style. The BBC favourite said: “When I am on TV I cook the food that I cook at home but my children always tease me. “I do a running commentary at home of my life like I do on TV."
I am being camp rather than being coquettish.
However, Nigella also explained to the Mirror that her “seductive” persona is as a result of “nerves”.
She divulged: "It is not an act but I do think you get a bit nervous or a bit awkward when there is a camera on you.
“I was an incredibly shy child. My way of being quite shy or awkward is that I get quite camp.
“I do realise that and often I am being camp rather than being coquettish.”
In spite of the response from viewers, the celebrity chef was adamant she doesn’t “worry” about how she is perceived.
Nigella added to the publication: "It is not my business to worry about how I am perceived.
“When I meet readers that is now how they think of me.”
The star’s presenting style was up for discussion in a recent episode of Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox.
Emilia quizzed Laurence about whether he is attracted to the chef, to which he nodded in response.
Laurence admitted: “I could listen to her all day.”
Emilia joked: “Do you want to share her sandwich with her?”
The actor then cheekily replied: “I want to do the spaghetti game with her.”
Laurence then continued to gush about Nigella when she showcased her new chicken recipe.
“She’s now putting on a pair of rubber gloves!” he exclaimed.
The author revealed she was going to pair the meal with Vitelotte purple potatoes.
After watching her add the side dish, he exclaimed: “What I would give to be that potato.”
