Carol Vorderman, 58, took to social media last night to share pictures from a US aircraft ahead of a D-DAY commemoration.
Yesterday, the Countdown legend took to the air in “Placid Lassie”, a C-47 aircraft which was flown to the UK especially to mark the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy.
Visiting Duxford Imperial War Museum in Cambridgeshire, the popular television personality - who is an ambassador for the RAF Air Cadets, got the chance to step inside the aircraft which flew for the United States Air Force during World War 2.
She told her 403,000 Twitter followers: “The most amazing flight in 'Placid Lassie' flown from the USA especially for the commemoration of D Day at @IWMDuxford.”
Carol went on to say: “Practice run with 7 aircraft in formation #LestWeForget @BBCTheOneShow,” revealing the pilots were preparing for the anniversary event.
Placid Lassie is part of the greatest gathering of Douglas C-47 Skytrain and Dakota aircrafts in one location since the Second World War.
Today the fleet will take to the sky in an epic cross-channel flight bringing the D-Day story to life.
In the social media snaps Carol can be seen inside the jet wearing a tight roll-neck jumper and skinny jeans.
Wearing her hair loose in a straight style, she smiles for the camera as she strikes a pose next to a window showing green fields and an aircraft mid-flight.
The Daks Over Duxford event will see the iconic Dakotas’ head to Normandy, where paratroopers will descend, before reaching their end destination of Caen-Carpriquet Airport at around 4.45pm depending on the weather.
