Rachel Riley Twitter: Countdown star drops C-bomb as she unleashes epic rant
RACHEL RILEY, who has starred on Countdown since 2009, lashed out on Twitter yesterday in response to clothing company Fendi who released a fox fur scarf which people have compared to a vagina.
Social media users have gone wild over Italian fashion house Fendi who designed a £750 fur-trimmed shawl which people have said resembles a vagina.
The peachy pink garment, made from silk, wool and fox fur, has been dubbed the “vulva” scarf online.
And Rachel Riley caught wind of the number and was outraged the company had released an item of clothing made of 100 per cent real fur.
The 32-year-old uploaded a picture of the scarf which was accompanied by the headline: “Fendi’s £750 ‘vulva scarf’ goes viral after shoppers compare it to a vagina.”
People who wear fur look like c****
Furious at the item of clothing, Rachel wrote alongside the image: “Proof that people who wear fur look like c****.”
The mathematician received more than 18,000 likes for the post and many replied in support of her statement.
One person wrote: “Just no need great faux fur out there.”
Another said: “Wow Rachel’s not holding back.”
“10 out of 10 for that one Rachel,” said a third.
The pink shawl is no longer available on the website but blue and red versions can still be purchased.
Fendi is one of the few designers which still feature real fur in its collections.
British Fashion Council were recently praised for making this year’s London Fashion Week the first one to be completely fur-free.
Meanwhile, on yesterday’s episode of Countdown, Rachel joked she feared host Nick Hewer could ruin her career.
When quizzed by the 74-year-old about her past jobs, she revealed she once rode a motorbike through fire.
Speaking on the show, Nick said to her: “You’ve done a few stunts in your time. You had that motorbike job, do you remember?”
The blonde star responded: “Oh that was a bicycle on a tight rope, five storeys up. I went through fire twice the temperature an oven is normally.”
Turning the conversation back to Nick, Rachel added: “And now I work with you Nick, it’s the most dangerous of them all.”
Laughing, Nick replied: “It’s not dangerous,” to which Rachel said: “You never know what’s going to come out of your mouth!”
“But it’s not going to kill you is it,” Nick stated.
Rachel responded: “Well you never know, it could kill my career.”
Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 2.10pm.
