Hugo Lloris: Tottenham keeper reflects on World Cup victory
The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper and captain was stopped by police in the early hours of this morning during a routine patrol.
The 31-year-old, who won the World Cup 2018 with France last month, was stopped in Gloucester Place, Marylebone, central London, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Just hours after Hugo was charged, his wife, Marine, appeared to ignore her spouse’s situation as she posted a stunning picture on Instagram.
The 32-year-old shared a throwback snap of herself posing with singer Christina Milian from their recent holiday this afternoon.
Marine, who has since made her Instagram account private, wore a pair of black-and-white striped trousers for the evening out, teamed with a tied-up white top.
Showing off incredible figure in the summery ensemble, Marine wrapped her arm around her pal.
Christina, 36, slipped into a pair of black latex trousers which she matched with an oversized T-shirt.
Marine appeared to be reminiscing about her latest getaway as she captioned the photo: “Night out with this gorgeous mama @christinamilian #throwback #summer #beachparty.”
It’s unknown whether Marine is in London with Hugo as reports emerged about his drink-drive charge.
Hugo was bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 11.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “A man has been charged following a routine patrol stop in Gloucester Place, W1.
“Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley was charged with drink driving on Friday, 24 August. He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 September.”
Hugo and Marine have two children together, and the footballer’s wife runs a childrenswear fashion and accessories brand.
Meanwhile, Hugo’s latest Instagram post saw the footballer wish his spouse a happy birthday.
In the snap, Marine tenderly placed her arm around her husband as they gave a cheeky smile to the camera.
He wrote: “Happy birthday to this amazing mum and wife! #birthday #32.”
Tottenham started the season well with a 2-1 win at Newcastle and a 3-1 victory over Fulham.
Their next match is against Manchester United on Monday evening.
Hugo has been at the north London club since joining from Lyon in 2012, making 207 appearances in the Premier League and keeping 74 clean sheets.
He has also won more than 100 international caps for France and captained the team to World Cup glory in Russia where they beat Croatia 4-2 in the final.
