Kirstie Allsopp shares update as garage floods

Love It or List It star Kirstie Allsopp has shared that she is having a run of bad luck recently. The property expert posted to Instagram letting her followers know that she has been forced to cancel a holiday due to being hit by a flood.

The UK weather has been particularly rainy this summer with Kirstie, 52, feeling the effects of the rain. Sharing some bad news, the Location, Location, Location host wrote: "Today was the first day when I had no work, caring, death & funeral admin, or any other event that I had to rock up for, I thought I’d do a massive moth prevention exercise, but then we realised the garage was flooded and I headed up to the roof to try to remove some of the water from last night’s storm.

"But no tiny violins, we were going on holiday tomorrow, we’ve delayed it until Friday, and then watch out, it will be wall to wall sunny shots."

The post included a video showing the DIY show host on the roof, brushing puddles of water away. She was dressed in an ankle-length floral dress as she wore a large trench coat and wellington boots.

Another clip showed water up to her ankles as she splashed in the flood that had taken over her garage floor. Meanwhile, a picture showed a railing full of coats which were airing off outdoors.

Fans applauded the presenter for still looking fabulous despite facing a challenging time. One Instagram user commented: "I love that sweeping a flood off your roof still doesn’t prevent you from wearing a fabulous dress."

Another added: "Oh my… Truly hope sorts & settles soon & you are able to then have a great holiday. X & you have some respite from admin & recent events. Concur with ALWAYS wearing a dress, looking wonderful."

Meanwhile, a third penned: "It can be very boring being a grown up and dealing with bereavement but it’s great to see you on the roof in style. Enjoy that holiday when it comes."

Kirstie recently paid tribute to her father Lord Hindlip – who was the 6th Baron Hindlip. She said he was a "real star" who she’s always been "so proud" of.

He died at home on June 5. The news came just weeks after the Channel 4 favourite revealed her dad had been hospitalised on May 24.

At the time of his death, Kirstie shared a picture of him on social media, as she wrote: "This is my Dad, Charlie Hindlip. He was a great auctioneer, the best of his generation, an artist, a gardener, a father of four, and grandfather of eight, a loving husband to a wife he lost too soon.

"He was a real star, he worked hard, played hard and went further than anyone ever expected. He died at home yesterday, surrounded by love, flowers & photographs, in a house he built, looking out over a stunning garden he created from scratch."

She concluded: "I have been so proud to be his daughter all my life, and will be until the day I die. Bless you Dad, we loved you so much."
