‘Charming’ seaside town has uncrowded rugged beaches in a beautiful setting
A beautiful seaside town on the Welsh coast is one of this year's trending destinations.
Want to explore more of the UK this year? A pretty seaside town has been crowned as one of this year’s best staycation destinations.
According to the team at Independent Cottages, British tourists are looking for quieter staycation alternatives to popular spots such as Cornwall and the Lake District.
While both areas are renowned for their beauty, they can get a little crowded during the peak summer months. Simon Calder recently warned British tourists about travelling to the Lake District.
The team at Independent Cottages have recommended Little Haven, a pretty town in Wales’ Pembrokeshire region as an alternative.
A spokesperson said: “Little Haven is a charming seaside village nestled along the Pembrokeshire Coast of Wales in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
“With its tranquil atmosphere and picturesque coastal views, it’s no wonder that Brits may be favouring it for their holidays given they may be steering away from overcrowded tourist destinations, and especially in light of wellness travel rising in popularity.
“Little Haven offers beachfronts that are less crowded compared to other, better-known seafront spots across the country, with sandy shorelines and a rugged coast that offers a naturally beautiful setting to unwind in.
“And with wildlife-watching opportunities and water activities to match, from spotting seals to snorkelling in blue waters, it’s a nature and adventure lover’s paradise.”

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path passes through the centre of the village with fantastic views of the beaches.
Little Haven has three pubs, all of which serve food and there’s also a seaside cafe and shop.
A tourist who visited Little Haven Beach wrote on Tripadvisor: “We entered this little gem of a spot down a steep hill. Crab sandwiches eaten on the beach then a walk along to Broad Haven. Great day out.”
‘Clare A’ said: “The beach is lovely, unspoilt by tat shops, ice-cream vans or anything of that nature. No litter.”
