UFC News: Darren Till breaks down UFC 228 bout with Tyron Woodley: He's a bit too small
UFC NEWS - DARREN TILL is confident he can end Tyron Woodley’s reign as UFC welterweight champion.
Liverpool native Till will challenge Woodley for the undisputed 170-pound title in the main event of UFC 228 in Dallas, Texas on September 8.
Till will enter his first UFC title fight as a huge underdog, despite boasting an undefeated record.
But the 25-year-old more than fancies his chances of dethroning ‘The Chosen One’, telling Express Sport earlier this year: “I think I match up bad for him.
“Because he’s a powerful wrestler, which is good because he’s going to try and get the takedown. He’s got a wicked right hand.
“But I think he’s a bit small and he’s going to be leaping for takedowns and I’m not going to be there. My footwork and distance control is just too slick.”
Should Till find himself grounded by Woodley, he’s confident he’ll be able to shake off the decorated wrestler.
He added: “If he does get the fight to the ground and I bounce back up, what’s his plan then?
“Because you can get me to the ground but I will scramble back up. It’ll be interesting.”

Victory over Woodley will see Till follow in Michael Bisping’s footsteps and become the second Brit to win UFC gold.
Bisping recently called time on his hall-of-fame career and Till believes he’s now the face of mixed martial arts in the UK.
‘The Gorilla’ said: “Bisping is finished, it’s me. Respect to him, he did very well, but it’s me now. I’m here.”
