Conor McGregor receives chilling message from Khabib Nurmagomedov
New UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has vowed to ‘destroy’ Conor McGregor when he finally gets his hands on the Irishman.
“In what round will I be able to knock McGregor out?” Nurmagomedov asked during an interview with Sport24.ru. “I do not know, and no one can know this. I’m going to destroy him.”
Nurmagomedov is hopeful of making his return to the Octagon in a few months time and is eager to be the man to welcome McGregor back to the cage.
“I do not yet know who my opponent will be,” the undefeated Dagestan native said.
“The fight will likely take place in Las Vegas. I want to fight McGregor; the fans are also waiting for this fight. I hope that Conor wants this fight.”

UFC president Dana White has claimed McGregor’s proposed fight with Nurmagomedov will take place in Las Vegas.
“No, that’s not happening in Russia,” White said during an appearance on The MMA Roasted Podcast.
“Yeah, that’s not happening in Russia. Because that’s going to happen in Las Vegas."

McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy has claimed he doesn’t know if’The Notorious’ will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon at UFC 229 on October 6.
“I can’t confirm anything,” Roddy told MMA NYTT's Jim Edwards. “It would be great to get Conor back.
“He’s training hard, he’s always training. He’s motivated and he wants to fight.
“It’s just that he needs to get a few things sorted out, then he can sit down and negotiate a good deal for his next fight.
“I think it will be another big spectacle — they always are. I’m excited, just like everybody else.”
