Nate Diaz is in talks with the UFC over a summer return to the Octagon
Diaz, 19-11, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since his UFC 202 loss to Conor McGregor, a defeat he vehemently contested.
The UFC brass have tried on multiple occasions to entice the Stockton native back to the cage but have been unsuccessful.
Mixed martial arts’ premier promotion have again reached out to the youngest Diaz brother and are currently locked in negotiations with the 33-year-old.
The news of the ongoing talks between Diaz and the UFC was revealed by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.
It’s been claimed the UFC hierarchy are keen on having Diaz make his long-awaited return to the cage at UFC 227, which takes place in California on August 4.
However, an agreement to see Ultimate Fighter season five winner compete on the eighth pay-per-view card of the year hasn’t been agreed.
News of the negotiations between Diaz and the UFC came less than 24 hours after his good friend Jake Shields claimed we’d see the TUF alumni back inside the Octagon.

“I know he wants to fight. He loves training, he’s in there.

“He just wants to make sure it’s a money fight, and you can’t blame him.”
Shields also dismissed the notion of Diaz’s lengthy hiatus being down to his eagerness to have a trilogy fight with McGregor, saying: “He’s not just looking for Conor.
