Floyd Mayweather in UFC? Joe Rogan makes huge CM Punk claim
FLOYD MAYWEATHER Jr has the skills to beat CM Punk in a mixed martial arts fight, according to UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
Floyd Mayweather has been linked with an MMA fight against CM Punk
Mayweather, 41, began teasing a move to the mixed martial arts world last January in a series of Instagram posts, to the shock of his legion of followers.
Invariably, talk of a rematch with Conor McGregor soon arose, leaving fans wondering if he'd step out of his comfort zone to fight the Irishman.
Many believe Mayweather's maiden MMA fight should see him take on fellow rookie CM Punk, who made his debut at UFC 203 in September 2016.
Should the proposed fight come together, Rogan believes Mayweather has a chance of defeating the former WWE star, so long as he manages to keep the fight on the feet.
"It's also possible Floyd could win,” he said during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. "That’s what makes that interesting.
“Because Floyd is still one of the best boxers of all time, if not the best. Still an elite athlete. Still light speed in there.
“With his footwork, his movement and his head movement. He's so fast.

"He’s going to be way faster than CM Punk. So if CM Punk can’t get a hold of him and every time he moves in he gets his face lit up. Pap-pap, pap-pap.
"With a dude who is fast as f**k with 6oz gloves, now he’s got 4oz gloves with very little padding.
“And he’s catching you right on the chin, blap, and you can’t do s**t about it.

“You’re trying to close the distance and he’s stutter stepping and he’s moving right in front of you.
“And CM Punk is not like the best kicker in the world I’d buy it!”
Punk, 39, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since his unsuccessful debut, which saw him suffer a first-round submission loss to Mickey Gall.
