CM PUNK will be given another chance to prove himself inside the Octagon.
CM Punk looks on before his UFC 203 bout with Mickey Gall
Punk, real name Phillip Brooks, controversially made his mixed martial arts debut at UFC 203 in September 2016.
The former WWE heavyweight champion took on fellow UFC rookie Mickey Gall, who went into the contest as the overwhelming favourite.
The bout went as many expected and saw Gall, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt, dominate Punk before submitting him with a first-round rear-naked choke.
Despite being humbled in his pro debut, Punk has retained an interest in fighting in MMA’s premier organisation.
Sixteen months have passed since Punk’s loss to Gall and many have been wondering if we’ll ever see him fight in the UFC again.
According to UFC president Dana White, the Chicago native, who has been honing his new craft with Duke Roufus since that night in Cleveland, will return to the promotion.

Dana White says CM Punk will be given another UFC fight
Speculation of the Punk returning the UFC heated up last month when he was spotted cornering Paul Felder for his UFC 218 bout with Charles Oliveira.
White played down suggestions of Punk’s appearance at the event including fight talks, saying: “No, he just came out to support his team-mate.
“I think he wants to fight again, he told me that. But we haven’t talked about anything.”
