CM Punk’s coach teases imminent UFC return
CM PUNK’s head coach has hinted that the former WWE superstar will soon return to UFC.
CM Punk walks to the Octagon ahead of his UFC debut
Punk, real name Phillip Brooks, made his mixed martial arts debut at UFC 203 in September 2016.
The Chicago native maiden MMA bout saw him lock horns with fellow UFC rookie Mickey Gall, who went into the contest as the huge favourite.
The contest went as many expected and saw Gall, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt, dominate Punk before submitting him with a first-round rear-naked choke.
Despite the humbling nature of his first loss, Punk’s interest in competing in mixed martial arts hasn’t waned.
Nearly 18 months have passed since Punk’s unsuccessful debut and many have been wondering if we’ll ever see him fight again.
Last month, UFC president Dana White revealed that Punk would have at least one more fight in the promotion, saying: “I like that guy. He’s a good dude.
“He wants one more. He wants to get another shot.

Speculation of Punk returning to Octagon began last weekend when the UFC announced that their 225th pay-per-view card will be held in Chicago.
Punk further added fuel to the fire by quote tweeting the UFC’s announcement with two emojis.

And in a recent Instagram post, Punk’s head coach, Duke Roufus, suggested the 39-year-old could very well fight in front of his hometown crowd.
Roufus’ recent post included a picture of the teaser poster for UFC 225.
The accompanying caption read: “#ufc #Chicago #ufcchicago #mma #chicagoufc #chicagomma #roufusport guess who.”
