Conor McGregor is no longer the lightweight champion
Khabib Nurmagomedov has claimed that he and Tony Ferguson will be fighting for the undisputed lightweight title at UFC 223.
“I spoke with Dana (White), I spoke to everybody about this situation,” Nurmagomedov told RT.com.
“But they say we are going to fight for a vacant belt, vacant undisputed belt. This is not Tony Ferguson’s interim belt, this is a vacant belt.
“And after when we fight (on) the 7th of April, on the 8th of April they are going to make it official – whoever wins becomes the real champ.
“Now Tony Ferguson is still an interim champion. Whoever wins becomes the real champ.”

Daniel Cormier discusses Stipe Miocic fight
UFC light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cornier believes victory over his heavyweight counterpart Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 will make him the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.
“I win this fight July 7, I’m the greatest fighter of all time,” the Louisiana native said during an appearance on The MMA Hour.
“I’ve done something that was unheard of and that’s what I’ve always chased. I’ve always chased that.
“I chased it in the fights with (Jon) Jones because even regardless of the belts, I would always say, ‘Once I beat Jones, I will be the greatest fighter of all time.’
“So I believe that once I do this, something that was so crazy that no one even has attempted it, I feel like I’m in the conversation for the best fighter of all time.”

Cain Velasquez rules out Daniel Cormier fight
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has ruled out the possibility of fighting Cormier if his team-mate triumphs in his champion vs champion bout with Miocic.
“Would I ever fight (Cormier)? No, I wouldn’t,” Velasquez said told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani. “I wouldn’t fight him. I think he feels the same way.

“I think it would be easy, me and him, just because we spar so much, s**t, it would just be another day at the office.”
