Tom Aspinall to face Sergey Spivak at UFC Fight Night 180 on October 10
Team Kaobon's Tom Aspinall is getting back on the saddle straight away.
Following a flawless UFC debut in July, former Cage Warriors standout Tom Aspinall will be back in action again before the end of the year.
Per multiple sources, the heavy-handed Team Kaobon prospect will lock horns with Moldova's Sergey Spivak at UFC Fight Night 180 on October 10.
The venue for UFC Fight Night 180 has yet to be announced, although it's understood the promotion are planning to return to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for a five-week stint in October.
Yas Island, or 'Fight Island' as it was dubbed, was the location for Aspinall's UFC debut against veteran Jake Collier.
Wigan's Aspinall showed no signs UFC jitters in his promotional bow, obliterating Collier in 45 seconds to earn a 'Performance of the Night' bonus.
If I use my skills properly, there's no way this guy should beat me
Spivak, 25, will enter his fifth UFC bout on the back on a majority decision victory Carlos Felipe on the UFC Fight Night 172 card.
Aspinall paid close attention to the former WWFC's champion's performance, so much so he campaigned for a clash with the 'Polar Bear' shortly after his successful debut.
"I was impressed with," Aspinall told Express Sport when reflecting on his callout of Spivak. "I thought he looked very good.
"I think he's a young up-and-coming guy as well - he's got more experience than I do.
"And I just said to my coach, 'I wouldn't mind fighting him next. He looks decent.' So I just thought, 'You know what? We're both coming off a decent win. Why not?'
After making light work of a seven-fight vet in Collier, Aspinall is understandably brimming with confidence ahead of his second UFC outing.
He said: "If I use my skills properly, there's no way this guy should beat me."
UFC Fight Night 180 will be headlined by men's bantamweight bout between former title challenger Marlon Moraes and the dangerous Cory Sandhagen.
