What Daniel Cormier did after beating Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 is pure class
DANIEL CORMIER beat Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 to retain the heavyweight title - then produced a classy touch after.
Cormier, 39, won with a rear naked choke in the second round in a routine victory in New York.
Lewis looked devastated afterwards but Cormier was never going to do a Khabib and rub it in.
Instead, Cormier made his way across the Octagon and embraced Lewis with a hug.
He then had a word in his ear for around 20 seconds after the fight before embracing again.
Cormier then paid tribute to Lewis in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, saying: "Two belts, one on each shoulder. Than you for blesssing me Dana White, I thought I was getting just one.
"It's history baby. History in the making Daniel Cormier, one of the greatest of all time
"Everything he did had unbelievable power, what a guy Derrick Lewis is. I really do appreciate him.
"I love his story, I love his Instagram and it was a pleasure to share the octagon with him."
But it was less of a classy message to WWE legend Brock Lesnar, who he called out with a possible fight on the cards at UFC 233.
"Brock Lesnar, when you come, bring that new WWE title," he said.
"I feel like becoming a WWE champion too.
"Bring that belt with you if you come to my house."
