UFC News - Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager address Conor McGregor’s ‘terrorist snitch’ taunt
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has broken his silence on Conor McGregor’s UFC 229 press conference tirade at him, in which he called the Egyptian a ‘terrorist snitch.’
“I just asked why he have belts? That's all I ask,” Abdelaziz said during the latest episode of Anatomy of a Fighter.
McGregor, 30, will challenge Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title in the main event of UFC 229, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 6.
Beginning of next year
UFC News - Dana White addresses Jon Jones rumours
UFC president Dana White has ruled out the possibility of Jon Jones headlining UFC 230 on November 3.
“Beginning of next year,” White told ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ show when asked about Jones’ return to the Octagon.
“He’s been off for awhile. I think he’s a little heavy right now and he needs to start cutting weight and getting back into shape and we should see him early next year.”
UFC News - Georges St-Pierre talks potential Tyron Woodley fight
Future UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre has insisted he has nothing to gain by fighting welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
“In terms of coming back to fighting, you have to realise I have a lot more to lose than to win,” the former long-reigning welterweight king told FanSided. “Tyron Woodley wants to fight me because he has a lot more to win than to lose because if he beats me in terms of legacy, in terms of popularity, he has a lot more to win.
“It’s not that I’m scared, actually, I’m always scared when I go fight. I’m scared of everybody but being scared is irrelevant because I’m going to walk the walk if I have to do it.
“I have to choose carefully what is my next move. For at this point, I am with cementing my legacy it is not a straight line.
“I have to check what can I gain, what can I lose. That is why when I fought Michael Bisping it was a win/win situation from both sides.
“If I were to lose I lose but if I win, I win big so it was good. Fighting Tyron Woodley right now, now that he won his last fight it elevates his stock a little bit more but it’s still not a complete win/win situation for me.”
