Conor McGregor: Coach makes bold Khabib fight prediction as Malignaggi reignites feud
CONOR MCGREGOR - Express Sport brings you the latest headlines on the former UFC lightweight champion.
Conor McGregor - Coach makes Khabib Nurmagomedov fight claim
Owen Roddy is adamant Conor McGregor will dethrone Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, claiming the Dagestan native has never been hit as hard as his fellow Irishman will hit him.
“I’m expecting a KO. Most definitely. Whether it's in the first or the second, I don't know,” McGregor's striking coach said during an appearance on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show.
“But, I would predict that he's going to flatten him. I definitely think Conor's going to land quick enough.
“It's just how he deals with being here and how he copes. I've seen it many times before. Not many people can take the shots. Very, very few. I don't think Khabib can take them either."
Conor McGregor - Paulie Malignaggi reignites war of words
McGregor’s former sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi reckons ‘The Notorious’ will ‘look for a way out’ of his grudge match with Nurmagomedov.
“The fact is he’s gonna look for a way out of that fight too,” Malignaggi said of the former UFC lightweight champion during an appearance on SiriusXM Boxing.
“Look at round five of the Diaz rematch, he’s literally running for his life. Who does that? With the fight hanging in the balance, who runs for the entire final round?
The fact is he’s gonna look for a way out of that fight too,
“He was given the decision in a close decision that could have went either way but who takes that chance though?”
“These are all character flaws of a man with no balls. When you’re a fighter you can tell right away who has character and who doesn’t.
“The guy has none so he tries to play it up in other ways so he covers up the fact that he has no balls.”
Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov statement from Georges St-Pierre
Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre has revealed he’s picking Nurmagomedov to come out of his showdown with McGregor victorious.
"If I have to bet, if I have to put my house on it, I have to choose Khabib over Conor," St-Pierre told Submission Radio.
"Khabib has never lost - he's never lost. Conor has lost before, he's lost on the ground.
"He has a few losses and he's lost on the ground, which is where Khabib is good.
“That's where Khabib is the more competent at."
