Rafael Nadal: Francis Roig reveals what the Spaniard REALLY thinks of Grand Slams
RAFAEL NADAL'S coach Francis Roig has explained how the Spaniard approaches each of his major tournaments.
Rafael Nadal doesn't only focus on the Grand Slam events
The 31-year-old is in fine form of late, making the most of rival Roger Federer's clay-court break.
Nadal has returned to the top of the world rankings in recent weeks.
And wins in Monte Carlo and Barcelona last month mean the Spaniard has retained his place as world No 1.
But Roig admits Nadal doesn't simply focus on the bigger Masters tournaments during a season.
"A few months ago Rafa was injured but he was feeling very well', he told Marca.

"At the end people thinks that you only have Grand Slams and it's not like this.
"He always says it, the important tournament is the one you have to play in order to have good feelings for the next one.
"You have to be calm, but it's clear that at the moment this is a great shape of form.
"The match by match exists in our group as well.
"Once you see the draw you focus only on the following match, and there is no one better than him in this."
Nadal is now preparing for this week's Madrid Open.
The tennis icon was recently spotted at the Wanda Metropolitano watching Atletico Madrid and Arsenal in the Europa League.
