RAFAEL NADAL has to be a little sometimes and listen to his body.
Rafael Nadal pulled out of the World Tour Finals after his defeat to David Goffin
Those are the thoughts of Greg Rusedski.
Nadal lost his opening round robin match at the ATP World Tour Finals to David Goffin last night 7-6 (7-5) 6-7, (4-7) 6-4.
After his defeat, Nadal announced he would not be continuing in the tournament, bringing his season to an end earlier than expected.
The Spaniard has had a fantastic 2017, which has included two Major triumphs - the French Open and US Open.
And speaking before Nadal pulled out of the tournament, Rusedski told Sky Sports: “I think Rafa has to be smart sometimes.

“If the body says no and it’s not an injury and he’s not 100 per cent sometimes you have to pull out.
“He’ll be hurting after that match.
“And I hope he hasn’t done any damage.
“He has to think about 2018 and he’s had a spectacular this year.
“He went on to win two majors and six titles.
“I’m a little concerned, because Rafa when he steps onto the court, no matter how he feels, he never stops or gives up.”
