Wimbledon 2017: Laura Robson in TEARS as she crashes out in first round
LAURA ROBSON crashed out of Wimbledon in tears this afternoon - before reigning champ Andy Murray had even taken to the court.
Laura Robson was dominated by Beatriz Haddad Maia
The former British No.1 was spotted crying in the second set on her way to a 6-4 6-2 defeat to Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia.
She was only on court 65 minutes and her early exit ensured she became the first Brit on the casualty list.
Once the princess of Wimbledon, Robson is not finding it easy to establish any kind of reign at the All England Club these days.
Junior champion in 2008 it seemed a stellar career awaited, but a complex wrist injury ruled her out of what could have been a crucial year in her development, and the grass courts she once ruled are now strewn with potholes.

Robson was broken by the World No.147 in the first game of the match as she lost the first set 6-4.
It was more in the same in the second when her emotions overcame her and the tears started.
Robson saved five match points to stave off the inevitable before Maia wrapped up a 6-4 6-2 win.
