The British tennis team went through to the quarter-final after Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov was disqualified for hitting the umpire in the eye with a ball.
The match in Ottawa was defaulted - handing victory to British tennis player Kyle Edmund and booking Great Britain a place in the quarter-final against France.
Ahead of the away showdown against France in April, here is a look at all the Davis Cup dates and information on how to watch the tournament.
What are the dates for the Davis Cup World Group?
First round: Friday February 3 to Sunday February 5
Quarter-finals: Friday April 7 to Sunday April 9
Semi-finals: Friday September 15 to Sunday September 17
Final: Friday November 24 to Sunday November 26

Which teams are playing in the quarter-final of the Davis Cup 2017?
Italy v Belgium
Australia v USA
France v Great Britain
Serbia v Spain
Briton Kyle Edmund will face France Lucas Pouille in the first match on Friday, while British player Daniel Evans will play Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in the second singles match.
Britain's Jamie Murray and Dominic Inglot will then play France's Nicolas Mahut and Julien Benneteau in Saturday's doubles, ahead of the reverse singles on Sunday.

The quarter-final against France will be covered live by the BBC, either online, on the red button or on BBC Two.

Friday April 7: BBC Two – 1pm BST to 6pm BST. BBC Red Button – 5.55pm BST to 9pm BST. Connected TV – 1pm BST to 9pm BST.
Saturday April 8: BBC One – 1pm to 4.30pm. BBC Two – 4.30pm to 5.30pm. In Scotland this will air on BBC One. BBC Red Button – 7.30pm to 9pm Connected TV – 1pm to 9pm.
