Alex de Minaur once admitted that his girlfriend Katie Boulter does not take priority over his professional tennis career, a move that Wimbledon star Carlos Alcaraz could learn from. The 22-year-old didn't manage to make a three-peat at SW19 this year, after rival Jannik Sinner finally got his revenge on the Spaniard by clinching his maiden Wimbledon victory on Sunday. The Italian tennis star beat Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the coveted trophy, with both tennis stars claiming that the rivalry will only get better in the future.

Alcaraz has been a formidable opponent in tennis for some time, winning five Grand Slam titles so far - including consecutive French Open and Wimbledon trophies over the last two years. However, one area in his life that he often struggles with is his romantic endeavours, as the young tennis ace believes that his career has a part to play in why he is unlucky in love.

While discussing his personal life in an interview with The Sunday Times last year, Alcaraz said: "I am single. I am looking for someone. It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time."

The 22-year-old had also previously made his feelings clear on love a year prior, as he told Vogue in 2023: "It's complicated, never staying in one place. It's hard to find the person who can share things with you if you're always in different parts of the world."

Despite these struggles in the romance department, it looks like Alcaraz could take some advice from a fellow tennis ace who seems to balance his strict sporting career and love life well. De Minaur has created a power couple dynamic with female tennis star Katie Boulter, whom he has been dating for around five years after making their relationship public in 2021.

The pair have clearly been able to keep their relationship strong throughout their ups and downs in tennis, to which the Australian credits a conversation that they had in the early stages of their dating life. The 26-year-old told the ATP Tour in 2024 that one of the main reasons their love is so strong is their honesty with one another about their tennis careers coming first.

De Minaur said: "I think what was very important, as well, in the early stages is that we talked about tennis being our number one priority, and we would make all of this work, just finding that balance. I thought it was going to be quite tough."

This sage piece of advice could be exactly what Alcaraz needs in order to complete that elusive task of finding a beau to cheer him on from the stands, as he continues to impress on the court.

Boulter and De Minaur

However, Boulter admitted in the couple's conversation with ATP Tour that they had tried to keep their romantic engagements private for some time - even when they were both competing at the same competition.

The Brit said, "Remember that time when we were having breakfast on separate tables?" De Minaur replied: "We would rock down to breakfast at different times. It works every time."

So, while it can be difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance - especially in a sport as intense as tennis - Boulter and De Minaur have proven to Alcaraz that it is indeed possible to find both love and success on the court.
