Kawhi Leonard trade: Spurs star ready to push through Lakers deal with drastic move
KAWHI LEONARD is so set on forcing through a trade away from the San Antonio Spurs to the Los Angeles Lakers that he is prepared to incur fines by never returning to the training facility.
That’s the suggestion from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, who suggest Leonard’s mindset is that he will not be playing his basketball in San Antonio next year.
The report leads on Leonard considering whether to participate in Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas next week with the suggestion he could want to prove to potential trade suitors his return to fitness.
And nine teams - the Clippers, Nuggets, Suns, Trail Blazers, Raptors and Wizards - are said to have enquired about what the Spurs want for Leonard.
San Antonio could still be aiming to re-build relationships with the 27-year-old, but it is reported Leonard is focussed on leaving the Spurs.
He reportedly doesn’t want to take another step in the Spurs’ practice facility, which could result in him incurring huge fines.
However, Leonard’s future may have already been resolved… but not with the team he wanted.
The 2014 NBA Finals MVP supposedly has his heart set on joining the Lakers, but breaking news this morning has revealed the Raptors are closing in on agreeing a deal with the Spurs.
He wrote: “Be told one thing & the outcome another. Can’t trust em. Ain’t no loyalty in this game.
“Sell you out quick for a little bit of nothing…
“Soon you’ll understand…”
“Don’t disturb…”
