LeBron James: Cavs to make NBA Draft pick with no idea about James intentions
LEBRON JAMES is causing Cleveland Cavaliers a big headache ahead of tonight’s NBA Draft.
Cavs have the No 8 pick in the NBA Draft this year and intend to use it wisely.
The defeated 2018 NBA Finals team are desperate to bolster their side with fresh young talent.
And they are determined not to be distracted by LeBron James’ free agency drama.
According to ESPN, Cavs officials are preparing their picks for the NBA Draft ‘without knowing James' intention for next season’.
Some may see this as something of a gamble, especially considering James is such an important player to the team.
ESPN report that Cavs have identified a handful of young hopefuls for the NBA Draft.
They include Collin Sexton, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., Kevin Knox and Mikal Bridges.
As for James, he is currently on holiday and his future is expected to be resolved soon.
However, having question marks over their superstar player heading into the Draft is not ideal for Cavs.
LA Lakers and the 76ers are said to be favourites to sign James, who is free to talk to teams this summer.
But the 33-year-old has already ruled out a move to Houston Rockets, who reached the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
