Grand Slam of Darts: Berry van Peer vows not to give up amid Dartitis problems
BERRY VAN PEER insists he will not give up playing darts despite breaking down in tears in his match against Gary Anderson yesterday.
Van Peer suffers with Dartitis, a condition in which a player struggles in the release of the dart.
Midway through his clash with Anderson at the Grand Slam of Darts, it was clear the Dutchman was severely hampered by the issue.
The 21-year-old revealed he has had the problem for a couple of months and says it is better some days than others, with him beating Simon Whitlock on Saturday.
Van Peer has received plenty of support since his 5-1 loss to two-time world champion Anderson and says that will motivate him to carry on with the sport.

Why should you give up when you get something nice like that?
“I actually was reading a lot of things on Twitter where they were motivating me to keep going for it and not giving up,” he told Sky Sports News.
“That was really nice and that’s exactly what people should do.
“You just have to keep going and if you love this sport, why should you give up when you get something nice like that?”
Van Peer also says he has been offered professional help this morning to aid him with his condition.

“I have actually been offered many different things,” he added.
“I’ve actually spoken with some people this morning, so I’m looking at all the options I am getting from people.
“I will take a decision and I will look from there.”
Van Peer is back in action at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall this evening against Cameron Menzies after Gary Anderson plays Simon Whitlock.
