Mo Farah left sweating over European Championships defence
MO FARAH will not be allowed to defend his double European crown if there is any doubt about his health.
Farah has had to give up on trying to make history at the Commonwealth Games by becoming the first man to do the double in all the major events because of a stomach illness.
Coach Alberto Salazar and agent Ricky Simms took the decision that Farah had not recovered enough.
And they are prepared to make the same tough call if he shows similar signs before the European Championships, which begin in 18 days in Zurich, where he will face three races in five days, involving the heat and final of the 5k and the 10k final.
"We would never risk his health," said Simms. "Mo just needs to get some more training in."

Farah, 31, is staying at his training camp in France. "The sickness I had two weeks ago was a big setback," he said. "Training is getting better but I need another few weeks to get back to the level I was at in 2012 and 2013.
"I really wanted to add the Commonwealth titles to my Olympic and world championships, but the event is coming a few weeks too soon for me. My body is telling me it's not ready to race yet."
