Usain Bolt, often hailed as the greatest athlete of all time and once known as the fastest man on earth, has left an indelible mark in the world of athletics. After delivering a series of stunning performances across three consecutive Olympic Games, Bolt hung up his spikes in 2017.

His illustrious career saw him bag eight Olympic gold medals and set world records in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay. Bolt's record for the 100m, which he has held since August 2009, is an impressive 9.58s. His 200m record, also set in 2009, stands firm at 19.19s.

Recently though, with two young sprinters threatening his records, Bolt has found himself back in the limelight, sharing his thoughts on the future of the sport he dominated for 10 years. Known not just for his athletic prowess but also his love for cars, music and football, Bolt is a man of many interests. Here, we delve into the life behind one of the most successful athletes ever.

What is Usain Bolt's net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bolt boasts a staggering net worth of $90million (around £68m). It's estimated that Bolt raked in $20-30m annually in the year leading up to an Olympics, earning him the title of the highest-paid track and field athlete of all time.

The lightning-fast Jamaican took home $9m (£6.8m) annually for donning Puma trainers, reports the Mirror. Bolt's endorsement empire extended to giants like Visa, Nissan and Gatorade.

In 2010, he sprinted onto the bestsellers' list with an autobiography, ushered in with a hefty advance from HarperCollins. Nowadays, Bolt can command appearance sums soaring up to $500,000 (£379,000).

Who is Usain Bolt's girlfriend?

Bolt has been with Jamaican model Kasi Bennett since 2013. Despite their low-key start, they burst into the spotlight post-Rio 2016 Olympics during a romantic trip to Bora Bora.

Bolt says his relationship goals are inspired by his parents Wellesley and Jennifer, who spent a decade together before getting hitched. Speaking with PEOPLE magazine, Bolt said: "She's happy, I'm happy. I want to have what my parents have. I want to take my time to make sure everything is perfect."

The couple now share three children. Daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt was born in 2020, and twin sons Thunder and Saint Leo Bolt arrived in 2021.

In a touching tribute this July, Bolt shared a heartfelt birthday message for his partner on her 33rd birthday. He expressed his adoration on Instagram with the words: "Today is a wonderful day it's my queens birthday so let's come together and wish her and happy birthday @kasi.b love you baby girl."

What cars does Usain Bolt own?

The sprinting icon has a notorious affection for flashy wheels. It is understood that he shelled out an eye-watering £216,000 for a robust Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

Bolt's fondness for Ferrari is particularly famous. After his world record-breaking sprints in 2009, he treated himself to a slick silver Ferrari California, believed to have cost around £149,000.

Not stopping there, Bolt picked up a Ferrari F430 Spider, which carried a price tag of approximately £186,000, and was also lavished with a Ferrari 458 Italia in vibrant yellow as a present. He later added a Rolls-Royce Cullinan to his enviable collection, with the luxury SUV valued at a whopping £264,000.

Yet, the crown jewel of his fleet is the prestigious Rolls-Royce Phantom II, setting him back a stunning £494,000. He also owns a sleek black Mercedes G-Class and a navy blue 2008 BMW M3 gifted by Puma.

Bolt's love for fast cars almost led to disaster however, as he survived two crashes in the BMW, with only minor injuries.

How does Usain Bolt feel about his records being broken?

When asked about his feelings seeing his records fall, Bolt remains as unshakable as ever. Jamaica's Nickecoy Bramwell and Australia's Gout Gout, both prodigiously talented 16-year-olds, have recently smashed two of the icon's long-standing records.

At the U20 World Championships in Peru, Gout darted to a silver medal with a blistering 20.60 seconds in the 200m, just nudging ahead of Bolt's time from 2002. Meanwhile, Bramwell beat Bolt's Under-17 400m world record at the Carifta Games in Grenada, clocking a swift 47.26 seconds, beating Bolt's best by a razor-thin margin of 0.07 seconds.

The news doesn't seem to perturb Bolt, who coolly acknowledges the need for fresh "personality" in athletics.

"After me, it kind of went down because of who I was as a person, and how big my personality was," Bolt said."But I think over time it will be better. I think young athletes are coming up and I see a few personalities that are needed in sport, hopefully in the upcoming years it will change."

Bolt made his professional debut in 2018 with Australia's top-tier team, the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League, following a contract offer, but departed after just eight weeks.
