The 2021 Tour Championship final proved to be a one-sided affair at Celtic Manor on Sunday night with Ronnie O'Sullivan failing to repeat his semi-final comeback heroics against Neil Robertson. In a re-run of the 2019 final, O'Sullivan was looking to clinch another tour title having reached his fifth final of the season.
And O'Sullivan was in good shape heading into the final after coming back from 9-6 down to beat Barry Hawkins in the semi-final.
But the six-time world champion came up against Robertson, who has looked bang on form all week.
The Australian, ranked fourth in the world, reached the final with an emphatic win over Mark Selby.
Jack Lisowski proved to be Robertson's toughest match all week despite the Englishman winning just five games.
O'Sullivan would have hoped to have given Robertson more of a fight, but the 39-year-old proved too strong on the day.
"I've never seen anyone play as well as that, his cue action is just ridiculous," O'Sullivan said.
"Straight through the ball, tempo doesn't change, opens his backhand like you've never seen anyone open it before - it's just ridiculous really.
"It's like he was playing on a pool table today. I was like, 'is he sure?'.
"I can't compete with that. I just have to sit back and enjoy the amazing play."
