NBA All Star: LeBron James SLAMMED for not doing ONE thing at All-Star weekend
NBA ALL STAR LeBron James has been criticised for not taking part in the Slam Dunk Contest.
The competition, held every year at All-Star weekend, was won by Hamidou Diallo on Saturday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star is averaging just 11 minutes per game this season but shone in Charlotte.
But it was a competition without many of the modern greats. James gave it a miss, as did Giannis Antetokounmpo and Russell Westbrook.
James is considered one of the greatest NBA stars of all time, alongside the likes of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
But the Los Angeles Lakers star has never taken part in the Slam Dunk Contest, whereas Bryant and Jordan have won it.
And renowned NBA pundit Skip Bayless, who regularly criticises LeBron James, was quick to slam the Lakers man.
“Remember when The Greatest Period, Michael Jordan, won the Dunk Contest TWICE?” Bayless tweeted.
“Remember Dominique [Wilkins] and Kobe and even Dwight [Howard] and Blake Griffin winning it? Those were the days.
“Diallo plays 11 minutes a game and averages 4 points.”
And NBA supporters also got on James’ back.
One replied to Bayless: “Everyone will take this as typical @KingJames bashing from Skip but Skip is 100% correct!!!
“Dunk contest is an after thought now from guys we are unheard of. LeBron. Giannis [Antetokounmpo]. Russ. @NBA needs STARS in the dunk contest.”

And others were quick to criticise James.
One added: “Everyone Says @KingJames is a Top 5 Player of All Time!!! But If He Is So All Time .. Why Is He So SCARED TO BE IN DUNK CONTEST!!! .. Thee Other Greats DID IT!!! .. Please Explain!!! #FANTRUTH”
Another posted: “The NBA stars ruin all star weekend. Get off the courtside and enter the dunk contest. It’s your job! @KingJames @russwest44 @Giannis_An34 @BenSimmons25”
And a third fan commented: “The Basketball GOAT shouldn't be afraid to participate in a Slam Dunk contest just once! @KingJames is simply afraid of being on the spot in big moments.”
