The links between Davis and LeBron James are there for all to see with both being represented by Klutch Sports.
The Lakers thought they did all they could to push a trade for Davis before the deadline, but the New Orleans Pelicans refused to buckle.
But now the season has broken up for the All Star break with Davis and James linking up on the same team.
James picked Davis with his first pick out of the reserve pool, with Giannis Antetokounmpo going on to joke, 'isn't that tampering?'.
The Pelicans star has been asked about the reported list of teams he would consider re-signing with in free agency in 2020.
It was reported there were just four teams Davis would sign a long-term deal with, but the six-time All Star insists every team is on his list.
“All 29 other teams are on my list. I don’t have a preferred destination," he said.
“I just want to win. Big market, small market, I don’t care. I want to win."
But fans have already picked up on a picture of Davis and James embracing in the changing room ahead of their practice session.
And it was the interesting look James gave Davis that caught their attention.
One fan tweeted: "LeBron and Anthony Davis said something to each other telepathically."
Another said: "LeBron James: 'you said 29 other teams right?
"Anthony Davis: 'Yeah I even said throw the Super Sonics in there".
A third said: LeBron & Anthony Davis with the 'see you next summer' look."
