World Darts Championship: James Wade gives BIZARRE post-game interview, makes 'hurt' claim
JAMES WADE claimed that he wanted to ‘hurt’ his second round opponent at the World Darts Championship after coming from behind to progress.
Wade was taken to a tie-breaker by Japan’s Seigo Asada on Wednesday night.
He eventually came through to win 3-2 and go into the third round, but he had to work for the win.
Asada scored an average of >97 percent through the match and looked set to progress as he came within a game of victory.
But Wade fought back to win, and showed his emotion after winning.
He scored an impressive checkout, before getting right in the face of the Japanese player.
Afterwards, speaking to Sky Sports, he admitted that he wanted to hurt Asada.
“I kept giving it to him, and I wanted to hurt him,” he said.
“I wanted to really hurt him in his face.
“It wasn’t a great game, but I wanted to hurt him.
“But I wanted to progress.”
Wade admitted that he was impressed with his performance.
He even claimed that his preparation wasn’t quite as good as he wanted it to be.
“His performance shocked and surprised me,” he said, per PDC.
“I honestly didn't think he had that game in him and I should have prepared better.
"I didn't play well and I had to dig in deep.
“I could have easily lost but I dug in and it's a magnificent feeling to win a game that I probably shouldn't have won."
