LeBron James: NBA pundit reveals secret behind Lakers star's friendship with Dwyane Wade
LeBRON JAMES’ humility has been a key aspect of his friendship with Dwyane Wade.
LeBron James denies leaving the NBA after Dwayne Wade quits
That’s the view of NBA pundit Marc J Spears with the pair facing each other for the final time this evening.
It comes as LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers face Miami Heat in Wade’s final season in the NBA.
LeBron and Wade, as well as Chris Bosh, were part of the Big Three at the Heat, reaching the NBA Finals in each of their four seasons together.
They won back-to-back Championships in 2012 and 2013 before LeBron James opted out of a contract extension in 2014 and returned to Cleveland Cavaliers.
LeBron and Wade have remained good friends though having first met at the draft combine back in 2003.
And Spears believes the respect LeBron showed Wade when he joined the Heat in 2010 was a key factor to their friendship standing the test of time.
“One thing that stood out to me was the respect that LeBron had,” Spears told ESPN’s The Jump.
“He went to Miami and didn’t try to take over, he respected Wade county.
“He was introduced first not last, he just let his aura naturally be there instead of walking in and saying he was a face.
“So that to me showed a lot of respect to Wade and his legacy in Miami.”
The Lakers go into tonight’s clash with a 16-10 record while Miami are 11-14.
And LeBron is looking forward to taking to the court though admits there will be some sadness.
"It's bitter, and it's sweet," LeBron said. "It's sweet and sour.
“The sweet part about it is I've always loved being on the same floor with my brother.
“We struck up a relationship together at the combine in 2003, and it started from there.
“And the sour part about it is that this is our last time sharing the same court."
