LeBron James shuts down reporter - 'I'm not friends with so many people'
LEBRON JAMES shut down a reporter who suggested he is friends with a large number of players in the NBA.
James has enjoyed a stunning career during which he has won three NBA championships and been named the league’s MVP on four occasions.
The 33-year-old joined the Los Angeles Lakers this season after leading Cleveland Cavaliers to their fourth straight NBA Finals.
Armed with a young, athletic squad James has driven the Lakers from one of the worst team in the Western Conference to fifth as it stands, with a 16-10 record.
James faces his long-term friend Dwayne Wade, with whom he won two rings, for the last time on Monday night when the Lakers take on Miami Heat.
I’m not friends with so many people in the league
Upon the suggestion from one reporter that Wade is one of many friends he has in the league, James was dismissive, though.
“You’re friends with so many people in the league and you respect a lot of different guys…” the reporter began.
But James cut him short, saying: “No I ain’t, no I’m not. No, no.
“No, I’m not friends with so many people in the league.”
Wade remains a confidant, however, but James found it hard to explain why.
“I don't know, sometimes it's just chemistry. Sometimes you can't even explain it,” he told reporters.
"And I bonded with Carmelo [Anthony] when I was in the 10th grade.
"I bonded with CP3 [Chris Paul] when I was in the 12th, and I bonded with D-Wade when we were both coming into the combine.
"Some things you just can't explain, and that's why we have our brotherhood."
As for playing against Wade for the last time next week, James said: “It's bitter, and it's sweet.
"The sweet part about it is I've always loved being on the same floor with my brother. It’s sweet and it’s sour.
"And the sour part about it is that this is our last time sharing the same court."
