Ronnie O'Sullivan beats Tom Ford to book place in UK Championship snooker final
RONNIE O’SULLIVAN has beaten Tom Ford 6-1 to advance to the final of the UK Championship.
Ronnie O'Sullivan pots incredible shot at UK Championship
Ronnie O’Sullivan booked his place in the last four with an emphatic 6-1 win over Martin O’Donnell in the quarter-finals.
The Rocket is now two just wins away from defending his crown and claiming a record seventh UK title.
However, the 43-year-old engaged in another row with World Snooker chief Barry Hearn this week over the way the tour is run.
But Hearn has told O'Sullivan his public outbursts have got to stop after the star announced the idea of a breakaway circuit.
"It is damaging to the game," Hearn said.
"When you're talking to major broadcasters around the world, for them to read about 'breakaway' - it's a word that tips you away from the sport because it's controversy.
"So that is damaging and that must stop. The rules are very specific that it can't take place and I'll be talking to Ronnie about that."
Hearn added: "I want to put an arm around Ronnie rather than hit him on the head with a rock because he needs to understand the way we work and we need to understand he may have some points that are worthy of consideration.”
