NBA news: LeBron James SLAMMED by Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard to Lakers blow, Steph Curry
NBA news is coming in thick and fast and Express Sport is on hand to bring you all the very latest.
LeBron James
LeBron James has been blasted by Golden State Warriors rival Kevin Durant for his “toxic” environment.
Durant is furious with how the media cover James' career and claims he gets preferential treatment because of all he has accomplished.
"So much hype comes from being around LeBron from other people," Durant said.
"He has so many fanboys in the media. Even the beat writers just fawn over him.
“I’m like, we're playing basketball here, and it's not even about basketball at certain points.
“So I get why anyone wouldn't want to be in that environment because it's toxic.
“Especially when the attention is bulls*** attention, fluff.
“It's not LeBron's fault at all; it's just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word.”
Kawhi Leonard
Kevin Durrant believes Kawhi Leonard would snub a move to Los Angeles Lakers because of LeBron James.
"If you're a younger player like a Kawhi, trying to pair him with LeBron James doesn't really make sense,” Durant said.
“Kawhi enjoys having the ball in his hands, controlling the offence, dictating the tempo with his post-ups; it's how he plays the game.
“A lot of young players are developing that skill. They don't need another guy."
Steph Curry
Steph Curry was holding ice on his left wrist after Golden State Warriors practice today.
Curry only returned from a three-week lay-off with a groin problem on Sunday but fears were raised of a further set-back ahead of the Warriors’ trip to Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
“It is great. It is fantastic,” Curry said. “I’m just glad I don’t play golf for a living.
“Yes [the ice is just for maintenance].”
