NFL news: Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson criticises HIMSELF despite win
BALTIMORE RAVENS quarterback Lamar Jackson criticised his own performance in the wake of his second professional start.
Jackson took over from the injured Joe Flacco last week, making his first professional start against the Cincinnati Bengals.
He rushed for 119 yards in the win, but was unable to connect with a touchdown pass.
Today, however, he did, as he connected with Michael Crabtree for his first professional touchdown pass.
The Ravens beat the Oakland Raiders 34-17 today, and Jackson led the way with 178 yards and 71 yards rushing.
However, despite the impressive performance, the 21-year-old explained he still wasn’t happy with himself.
“I don’t feel like I did enough,” he admitted.
“There’s always room for improvement.
“We’re in a good spot right now.
“We’ve just got to keep winning.
“We’ve got to execute on the field.”
Some have questioned whether Jackson has the confidence to match his ability.
However, the star insisted that won’t be a problem, and he just has to do what he always does.
“The confidence has always been there,” he declared.
“The fans are trusting me, my team-mates, the coaches.
“They’re trusting me to get the ball to my receivers and put points on the board.
“That’s my job.
“I’m always confident of that.”
