NFL news: New York Giants legend Michael Strahan reveals his pick for MVP award
NEW YORK GIANTS legend Michael Strahan has revealed who he believes will be named the most valuable player at the end of the season.
The former Super Bowl champion was speaking on the Fox Sports NFL Sunday show when he was asked to present his case for the MVP.
Strahan claimed that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will win the accolade at the end of the year.
Brees has led the Saints to ten straight wins in the NFL.
The Saints have only lost once this season, in their first game of the campaign.
Since then, Brees has been an unstoppable force for the 2010 Super Bowl champs.
He was named the Super Bowl MVP then, but has never been named league MVP.
But Strahan has backed him to go one better this year and win the MVP award.
“Drew Brees will be the MVP,” Strahan claimed.
“He makes everyone around him better.
“That’s why he’s the MVP.
“He throws the ball in such a way that you have no choice but to catch it.
“He can hand it off 30 yards down the field.
“Defensive players don’t win MVP.”
The 39-year-old was on form on Thursday night, as the Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons 31-17.
Brees threw four touchdowns and 171 yards, with 15/22 successful passes.
